Location: The Boro, Brockham
Property Type: Four-bedroom detached house with detached workshop
Challenge: Poor WiFi coverage in the house, no coverage in the workshop
The Problem

Our client, based in a four-bedroom detached home in The Boro, Brockham, runs a small but busy clock repair business from a separate workshop located about 50 metres from the main house. While the main home had adequate Wi-Fi in the downstairs rooms, the upstairs was patchy and the workshop had no WiFi at all, and crucially, no mobile signal either.

This meant that taking customer calls or checking emails had become a frustrating routine of walking back to the house to get a signal. It was a clear disruption to the business, and with no landline in the workshop, it wasn’t sustainable.

Our Solution

We conducted a comprehensive radio frequency survey of the workshop to gain an understanding of its layout and materials. We then designed a solution to provide stable, high-quality Wi-Fi to both the house and the remote workshop.

  • Point-to-Point Wireless Link: We installed a discreet outdoor point-to-point wireless bridge to deliver a strong, direct signal from the main house to the workshop, with no need to dig trenches or run cables underground.
  • TriFi units: We installed a series of enterprise-grade WiFi units, strategically positioned across both floors in the house and in the workshop to maximise coverage and minimise interference.
  • Seamless Integration: The extended network was set up to operate as part of a single unified system, allowing devices to roam between the house and workshop without dropping connection.
The Result

The house and workshop now has full, reliable Wi-Fi coverage—and for the first time, the client can take and make calls from inside the building using Wi-Fi calling. Customer communication is now smooth and uninterrupted, and business operations are no longer disrupted by poor connectivity.

The homeowner now enjoys solid coverage across the property and can confidently run their business without stepping away from the workbench to speak to their customers.
